BENEFIT CONCERT RAISES $7500 FOR PUBLIC RADIO
Crash
Test Dummies entertain crowd at DMR
Durango,
CO
– Purgatory
Village
was alive with the sound of music on Saturday, July 11th, as the
Crash Test Dummies performed live in a benefit concert that raised $7500 for
KSUT Public Radio. More than 500 fans of the band showed their support for local
radio and enjoyed a live performance as the sun set at Durango Mountain
Resort.
Southwest
Sound in Durango
and Durango Mountain Resort’s ticket office both sold out of the $15 tickets for
the event. The audience, ranging in age from 1-60, was treated with old
favorites including “Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm,” “Superman’s Song,” and “God Shuffled
His Feet,” as well as new songs from the bands most recent release “Puss ‘N
Boots.”
KSUT is thrilled with the outcome of the concert and said
the money raised will be going to the continued success of local news
production. “The (concert) was the easiest, best show we’ve ever done,” says
KSUT event organizer Beth Warren. “Thank you DMR!”
Continuing
the tradition of great music at Durango Mountain Resort, the 18th
annual Music in the Mountains begins this weekend. Twelve concerts will be held
in the Purgatory Village Tent, at the base of
Purgatory
Mountain,
including the fan-favorite Pops night on July 28th. Music in
the Mountains event details can be found at www.MITM.com. For information on
