Opening in October 2010, the Durango Discovery Museum will be a one-of-a-kind, interactive science and discovery center for kids of all ages. At the DDM, you’ll have access to an educational wonderland full of science and energy exhibits and activities, that are sure to amaze, edify, and maybe even shock you.
The museum adds an exciting new destination to historic downtown Durango and is a catalyst for revitalizing the city’s riverfront. Housed in the country’s oldest surviving coal-fired, steam-generated AC power plant, the “Powerhouse” promises to ignite curiosity, spark imagination, and power exploration.
