Soaring® Tree Top Adventures, the largest zipline course in the world, opens for its ninth season on May 18, 2012.
Originally open to the public in 2004, Soaring® Tree Top Adventures has continued to grow and evolve its full-day, family friendly zipline. Today, Soaring consists of over 34 eco-friendly platforms, with 27 spans ranging from 56-1400 feet. Guests soar over 1.5 miles of cable in old growth forest, through Aspen glens and across the Animas River. A four-course gourmet lunch served in the trees overlooking the river and an ecology tour is also provided.
With no road access to Soaring’s remote location in the mountains outside of Durango, Colorado, guests arrive to Soaring via the Durango & Silverton Railroad. Soaring guests travel to and from the zipline location in Soaring’s private, First Class train cars.
Soaring has been enjoyed by guests age 4 - 91. For several years, the tour has been rated the #1 Attraction in the United States, Colorado and Durango on TripAdvisor.com, a consumer website for posting unbiased reviews of places visited. The company holds several patents, including an ecologically sound, non-invasive system to attach the stainless steel cables and platforms to the old-growth Ponderosa pines without a single bolt, nail or screw penetrating the trees. A second patent is in the self-braking system, so guests do not need to wear gloves or slow themselves on the ziplines.
In 2011, Soaring added two new parallel racing spans. The new spans are over 600 feet long, running side-by-side, and allow guests to race one another as they travel through the old growth forest.
The all-inclusive cost for the 5 ½ hour zipline adventure, including all equipment, expert Sky Ranger guides, Eco Tour specialists, a four-course gourmet lunch served in the trees and roundtrip train transportation on Soaring’s First Class train cars to this full day of adventure is $449/pp. Advance reservations are required: please call 970-769-2357 or reserve online at www.soaringcolorado.com.
