Durango Mountain Resort Offers Year-Round Family Fun

June 4, 2010, Durango, CO – With more than 85 runs, 1,300 skiable acres, consistent powder, and sunny skies, Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort is a family favorite for skiers and snowboarders of all levels and abilities. December 2008 marked the opening of Purgatory Lodge, a new $50-million base facility complete with new shops, a restaurant, and an outdoor pool and spa. In December 2009, Purgatory unveiled 125 new acres of expert tree-skiing on the back side of the mountain.

In summer, Durango Mountain Resort is the place for outdoor fun and adventure, with an Alpine Slide, scenic chairlift rides, mountain bike uplift, climbing walls, a bungee trampoline, miniature golf, hiking trails, disc golf and more. The resort’s many lodging options include luxury slopeside condos at Purgatory Lodge and affordable studio units at Tamarron Resort, conveniently located between the resort and downtown Durango. A spectacular location, friendly staff, and some of the best weather in America make Durango Mountain Resort the perfect year-round family vacation resort.
