Library to Host Inaugural Literary Festival September 16-18

Durango, CO:  As part of the Durango Showcase of the Arts, the Durango Public Library will host its inaugural Literary Festival from Thursday, September 16 through Saturday, September 18.  Each day will include a variety of workshops from which to choose presented by local authors and illustrators.  Workshop topics include illustrating children’s books, researching historical fiction, and how to get your book published.  Thursday evening will feature a local writers panel with the theme of “Achieving Publishing Success in the Four Corners” with Blake Crouch, Katherine Leiner, and Ken Wright and will be moderated by Ted Holteen.  Friday evening’s keynote speaker is award-winning author Craig Childs who will be speaking about “The Ends of the Earth” offering a fresh perspective on writing, adventure, and the state of the world.  For more information and a calendar of events please call 375-3380 or visit
