Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Presents the Third-Annual Durango Heritage Train
Durango, CO –The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is once again offering the Durango Heritage Train on October 9, 2010, during the Durango Heritage Celebration.
The train departs at 9:15 am and travels 30 minutes up the Animas Valley, where the train stops and a staged robbery takes place. Before boarding, passengers have the opportunity to purchase silver dollars to “donate” during the robbery. All proceeds from the robbery will be donated to the Animas Museum.
Fares are $10* for coach and $15* for the Nomad and Prospector cars. Victorian or Western apparel is required to ride this train. Railroad yard tours are available for $5.00 with the purchase of a Heritage Train ticket and are offered daily at 10:30 am and 2:30 pm (advance reservations required). Seats for this train are very limited.
