Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Offers 21st Annual Fall Photographers’ Specials
Durango, CO –The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is offering its 21st Annual Fall Photographers’ Special on the weekends of September 25 & 26 and October 2 & 3, 2010.
Passengers will travel to Silverton through the remote wilderness of the San Juan National Forest. The first weekend will focus on the pure majesty of autumn in the San Juan Mountains. The second weekend will transport passengers back to 1949 to relive the autumn splendor of the Animas Canyon on a historic re-creation of a train from that time period. Passengers will disembark in exclusive wilderness areas to photograph the train steaming past with the backdrop of high peaks, autumn colors and the Animas River.
Seating is limited to allow for the best views and photo opportunities. Saturday’s train departs Durango at 7:00 a.m. each weekend and returns at 6:30 pm. Sunday’s train departs Durango at 7:00 am each weekend and returns at 7:15 pm. Fares include complimentary coffee, donuts, lunch and soda. Additional items will be available for purchase. Exclusive night photo shoots are being offered both weekends for an additional fee.
