Durango, CO –The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is running the Bluegrass Express Train on Friday, April 8, 2011, offering a unique way for passengers to experience select music from the Annual Durango Bluegrass Meltdown.
Passengers are invited to ride in the comfort of a vintage coach or one of our Premium-Class cars on the train to the Cascade Canyon Pavilion. Entertainers will rotate among the cars reserved just for Bluegrass Express guests. Musicians will also play for all passengers during the one-hour layover at Cascade Canyon. A free concert that evening from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm in the railroad’s museum will officially kick off the Durango Bluegrass Meltdown.
The train departs Durango at 10:00 am and returns at 3:15 pm. Cars offered on this train are the Premium-Class Alamosa Parlor Car, the Prospector Car and Standard-Class Vintage Coach. The Alamosa Parlor Car, (ages 21 and over), is 109* per person and the Prospector Car is $109* for adults and $69* for children (age 4-11 years) and both include a private attendant to serve complimentary non-alcoholic beverages and Premium amenities. Standard-Class coach seating is $79* for adults (ages 12 and over) and $59* for children (ages 4-11).
