Community Concert Hall show features special guest Cas Haley
DURANGO, Colo. – Trevor Hall, called a breath of fresh air in today’s music scene, comes to the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, 7:30 p.m. Special guest Cas Haley will open the show.
A singer/songwriter/guitarist, Trevor Hall embodies a soulfulness, depth and passion far beyond his years. His work combines a unique musical mix of reggae and acoustic rock that serves as a landscape for his thought-provoking, inspiring lyrics.
Originally from South Carolina, Hall has been writing and performing since his early teens. At age 16, he was accepted to the Idyllwild School of the Arts in Southern California where he studied classical guitar and learned firsthand the power of music and art. During his senior year he signed with Geffen Records and worked with a number of top-notch producers.
Though Hall lost his Geffen contract in 2008, he went on to independently record two CDs, (as well as contribute the songs “The Lime Tree” and “Other Ways” to the Shrek, The Third Soundtrack) and ultimately was signed by Vanguard Records. The label released his self-titled album in 2009. The lead single “Unity” was written and performed with his friend Matisyahu and inspired by the Mumbai terrorist attacks.
Hall is currently touring to promote his new Vanguard release, Everything Everytime Everywhere, which is said to be a courageous affirmation of his newfound maturity as an artist hitting his stride. Produced by Jimmy Messer, the eleven tracks on Everything Everytime Everywhere showcase Hall’s ability to write universal songs infused with underlying themes of devotion and community in the vein of two of his heroes, Ben Harper and Bob Marley. From the upbeat, anthemic “Brand New Day,” to the momentous closing track, “The Mountain,” Hall’s signature blend of catchy pop/rock songs with stylish shades of reggae has made this diverse 24-year-old one of the most lauded up-and-coming artists on the American music scene.
Wrote the Cleveland Scene, “Trevor Hall might look like a SoCal surf punk, but he’s a true acolyte of Bob Marley. The 24-year-old singer-songwriter’s self titled 2009 album was truly an original hybrid of reggae, pop, folk, soul and electronica. Everything Everytime Everywhere passionately continues down the same path.”

Hall’s special guest, rock and reggae singer/guitarist Cas Haley is said to possess a crystalline voice and perform songs with funky, easygoing beats. He burst onto the scene in 2007 with his second place finish on the television show “America’s Got Talent,” and his first self-titled album quickly followed.
Haley’s second release, Connection is described as bristling with chill grooves, rocking guitars and funky horns, all fueling his irresistible melodies. His lyrics effortlessly balance simple, spiritual truths with thoughtful reflection as his songs recognize the complexities of life – love, family, worldly troubles and uncertainties – but always come back to the central message of connection.
