Sorrel Sky Gallery Announces Sharon Abshagen Workshop
DURANGO, CO – Award-winning oil painter Sharon Abshagen will lead a 3-day workshop at Sorrel Sky Gallery between January 13 -15. “Plunge into Oil Painting!” is the first workshop of a six-part series hosted by Sorrel Sky Gallery.
Abshagen recently won “Best of Show” from the Four Corners Commission and was featured on the cover of SkyWest Magazine. A graduate of Fort Lewis College, Abshagen is a member of the American Academy of Women Artists, The Plein Aire Painters of the 4 Corners, and Oil Painters of America.
“Plunge into Oil Painting!” is the perfect opportunity for beginning oil painters to concentrate on composition, color harmony, and brush strokes. The class will also go over setting up your palette, and helpful equipment and materials. Students will meet one-on-one with Abshagen prior to the workshop to determine each student’s starting point and expectations. The cost is $225 per person. Minimum class size is 4 with a maximum of 8.
