Sorrel Sky Gallery Resurrects Snowdown Ball, Benefits Hospice of Mercy

DURANGO, CO - Sorrel Sky Gallery will host Snowdown’s Fairy Tale Ball – a black-tie optional event with proceeds benefiting Mercy Health Foundation's HOME Campaign for Hospice of Mercy's new inpatient residence.  Featuring “tiny-tini” martini tasting and heavy hors d’oeuvres, the Ball revitalizes a long-lost Snowdown tradition.

The Fairy Tale Ball will be the first fundraiser for the hospice residence and is expected to raise over $5000.

“We are proud to be the recipients of this inaugural event especially since it will benefit our HOME Campaign for the new Hospice Residence,” Chief Development Officer of Mercy Health Foundation Karen Midkiff said.

“Once built, this new inpatient residence will serve hundreds of patients and families.”

Sorrel Sky Gallery has a rich history of raising money for local organizations. Last year, the gallery hosted a fundraiser for the Regional Housing Alliance of La Plata County and held multiple educational events.

“I strongly believe in the importance of giving back to the community,” Sorrel Sky Gallery owner Shanan Campbell Wells said.

“Snowdown’s Fairy Tale Ball will not only be an elegant and fun event, but a fantastic opportunity to raise funds and awareness about the new inpatient residence.”

The event will be February 4th from 5 – 8pm. Tickets are $50 and will be on sale at Sorrel Sky Gallery, Mercy Health Foundation, The Rochester Hotel, and The Wells Group.
