Ride Two-for-One on the Snowdown Balloon Rally Train
Durango, CO –The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is again the proud sponsor of the Snowdown Balloon Rally Mass Ascension on Saturday, February 4, 2012. As part of the celebration, the D&SNGRR is running the Snowdown Balloon Rally Train, offering passengers the chance to view the mass ascension overhead from the comfort of heated train coaches. Two-for-one tickets are being offered in Standard-Class coaches and in the Premium-Class Cinco Animas car (second ticket must be of equal or lesser value).
The train will stop in the Animas Valley for the colorful mass hot-air balloon ascension and will continue to Cascade Canyon for a short break by the Animas River before returning to Durango.
New this year is the Fairy Tale Trivia Car, which will give passengers the opportunity to test their knowledge of fables and fairy tales while riding in the First-Class Alamosa Parlor Car. A car attendant will lead the trivia fun on the way up to Cascade Canyon and tie-breakers and awards will take place on the return trip. Passengers in this car will receive a complimentary mug or cup that is refillable with non-alcoholic beverages all day. No alcohol will be served in the Alamosa Parlor Car on this trip and children will be allowed for this special occasion.
The train departs Durango at 8:00 a.m. and returns by approximately 1:30 p.m.
Light lunch items are available for purchase on the concession car. Boxed lunches are available for pre-purchase. Standard-Class tickets are $59* per adult and $34* per child (ages 4-11). Presidential-Class Cinco Animas tickets are $99* per person (age 21 and over). Both classes of service are eligible for the Two-for-One offer. First-Class Parlor Car tickets (Trivia Car) are $45* for adults and $30* for children (age 4-11).
