DURANGO, CO – Sorrel Sky Gallery, 828 Main Ave., will feature Durango landscape painter Jim Bagley for August's First Thursday Art Walk. Joining Bagley will be musician Robby Overfield, also of Durango.
Bagley is well known in the area for his realistic representations of the Southwest mountains and thunderous skies. Originally a graphic designer in Oregon, Bagley relocated to New Mexico where he pursued his lifelong dream of becoming an painter. Now living outside of Durango, Bagley spends his time in the mountains and river valleys - finding inspiration through hunting and fishing.
Overfield's soulful acoustic ballads are reminiscent of his hometown of Detroit combined with the soft musings of life in the West. Overfield will play throughout Thursday's Art Walk.
Having recently started in June, Durango's First Thursdays Art Walks have become a vibrant edition to the arts community. With 11 participating venues, the Art Walks provide both locals and out-of-towners alike an opportunity to enjoy the arts scene. The Walk will be from 5-8 pm on August 2nd.
