ALTITUDE O2 BAR NOW OPEN FOR SEASON AT DURANGO MOUNTAIN RESORT
Southwest Colorado’s First-Ever Recreational Oxygen Bar
DURANGO, Color., -- Altitude O2 Bar is now open seven days a week at Durango Mountain Resort with two locations: 1) Plaza Level below Purgy’s and 2) Dante’s on the mountain. Altitude O2 Bar is a locally owned company providing 92% - 95% oxygen enriched air through PSI technology. Owner/Operator Dave Luna, a certified paramedic and Durango Mountain Resort Ski Patroller, said he brought Altitude O2 Bar to Durango because he saw a need to help people reduce the effects of high altitude sickness, including locals and visitors.
“Oxygen is the best medicine for reducing the effects of high altitude sickness,” said Mr. Luna. “Not to mention it reduces muscle soreness, headaches, stress, and even hangovers. The effects leave our customers feeling alert, refreshed, full of energy, and with a general over-all good feeling.”
“We were surprised by how much us a boost Altitude O2 Bar gave us after performing,” said Manuel Ramírez Ruiz, Nostros music band. “It’s very refreshing and relaxing, and helped us get our energy back quickly after our performance; we all felt more alert.”
Altitude O2 Bar uses state-of-the-art, personal recreational oxygen concentrators (not stored oxygen), and medicinal grade natural aromatherapy oxygen blends that Mr. Luna said have actual therapeutic value. The oxygen is pumped up to delivery stations (located in the bar) where the oxygen is humidified and infused with aromatherapy or flavor aromas. Customers choose two aromas/flavors, receive a disposable nasal cannula, and enjoy ten minute sessions.
“We’ve had a tremendous amount of positive feedback,” said Mr. Luna. “We get a lot of repeat local business including those with young families because it’s safe for everyone, and
they recognize that just because they live here at a high altitude they can STILL suffer from the effects of high altitude.”
Altitude O2 Bar has teamed up with Mystic Muse: Aromatherapy Healing & Massage Therapy to create a variety of signature oxygen blends including: The Muscle Tonic—an anti-inflammatory that pushes lactic acid out of the body, 2) The Orange-Peppermint—an all natural uplifting and energizing blend, and The Chillaxin—reduces stress.
Mr. Luna says, “80% - 90% of our body’s energy comes from oxygen not food or water, and that the lack of oxygen can lead to a variety of health issues such as heart and circulatory problems, toxic build up in the blood stream, inflamed joints, and premature aging.
