Durango, CO – The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is offering a train and dinner package as a unique way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on March 17, 2011. Passengers will enjoy a train ride to Cascade Canyon, followed by a traditional Irish dinner at the The Palace Restaurant.
The fares in these designated cars will include complimentary non-alcoholic beverages; live Irish music by the Kitchen Jam Band; Irish history talks with local author and historian, Duane Smith; and upon return to Durango, a traditional Irish dinner. The train departs Durango for Cascade Canyon at 10:00 am and returns to Durango at 3:00 pm. An early dinner will be served at The Palace Restaurant at 4:30 pm, where the live music will continue.
Cars offered for this package are the Deluxe-Class San Juan Car and Standard-Class Vintage Coach. The San Juan Car, for ages 21 and over, is $109* per person. Standard-Class is $89* for adults (ages 12 and over) and $64* for children (ages 4-11). Both classes of service include a private attendant to serve beverages and provide Premium amenities. A cash bar is also available.
