Bayfield

Anchoring the Pine River Valley, Minding the Ranch, Hosting our Friends, Families, and Visitors for more than 100 Years, and Building for the Future.

Whatever you're looking for in a great family get-away: Green mountains or red deserts, lake boating, riverside fishing, or world-class hunting, mountain hiking or mountain biking, skiing or boarding, it's all right out the door – In Beautiful Bayfield, Colorado.

Since our founding in 1906, Bayfield has been an agricultural, cattle, and sheep ranching hub. Today, Bayfield proper is home to some two thousand; for many more area residents we act as the commercial and cultural center of the eastern county.

Our historic downtown Mill St. district retains much of its early charm and vitality, while our more recent business growth is hosted in the Bayfield Center business park and our Commerce Drive retail district, both just north of US Highway 160.

Thinking of relocating? There's nowhere better than Bayfield, which is one of the reasons we've recently been the fastest growing community in southwest Colorado.  With state-of-the-art water facilities, abundant water rights, a beautiful new Town Hall, new Senior Center, modern library and fire districts, and award-winning schools, Bayfield and our sister community of Gem Village are definitely Open for Business.
