Durango, Colo. – The Durango Area Tourism Office (DATO) is pleased to welcome Julianne Fredrick as sales manager. Julianne will work with the destination marketing organization to drive international, domestic, group sales, and shoulder-season visitation programs.

“Julianne is an experienced hospitality professional that brings sales skills and travel trade industry contacts to her role at DATO,” says Bob Kunkel, Executive Director with DATO. "Along with supporting domestic and international group sales, Julianne will focus on attracting new business and driving visitation during our shoulder seasons."

Julianne’s extensive tourism and hospitality career spans from the Interlaken Tourism Office in Switzerland to serving the Durango area since 1997, including as general manager at the Hampton Inn and director of front office services at the Strater Hotel. She has been active in both the National Tour Association (NTA) and Tour Colorado for over fifteen years, and is currently serving a second term as board member with Grand Circle Association. She also just received her CTIS (Certified Tourism Industry Specialist) certification from the American Bus Association (ABA). Julianne is multilingual, and speaks both French and German.

The newly created sales manager position is a strategic move to enhance existing destination selling activities, while creating new opportunities to grow visitation during the off season. “I’m excited to join DATO and support the organization’s tourism goals, and I look forward to continuing the strong growth in 2017,” adds Julianne Fredrick.

The Durango area is Southwest Colorado’s premier four-season destination, attracting more than one million visitors annually. Please contact Julianne Fredrick for help with sales inquiries at julianne@durango.org, or visit www.durango.org for more information.
