Wilson to oversee sales strategy and destination selling activities effective immediately

The Durango Area Tourism Office (DATO) welcomes Marsha Wilson as sales manager. Marsha will advance domestic and international group sales, while driving new shoulder-season visitation programs for DATO.

Marsha brings over 25 years of sales and operational experience in the luxury hospitality and tourism industry to her role at DATO. Prior to serving as Senior National Sales Manager with Visit Albuquerque, she spent seven years as Account Executive with VisitLEX, Lexington, Kentucky's Convention and Visitors Bureau.

“We’re delighted to welcome Marsha to Durango,” says Frank Lockwood, Executive Director with DATO. “We are confident her years of tourism experience and expertise in regional markets will greatly benefit our team and industry partners.”

Marsha will help promote the Durango brand through ongoing exposure in the travel trade and tour group industries, both domestic and internationally, while working to create opportunities that attract new businesses and increase overnight visitation throughout the region. She will also play a key role in connecting Durango's local businesses to the ongoing selling efforts of the Durango Area Tourism Office.

The Durango area is Southwest Colorado’s premier four-season destination, attracting more than 600,000 visitors annually. For information about the Durango Area Tourism Office, please contact Theresa Graven for media inquiries, or visit Durango.org.
