ANIMAL SOUL
Animal Soul has its roots back in 2012, when founder Anthony Braun first performed around New York City under the Animal Soul name, but the current line-up, which began coming together in Durango in 2024, reflects the ultimate expression of the Animal Soul spirit, weaving together the vocal and songwriting effervescence of lead singer/keyboardist Abi Nicholas, the harmonic intelligence of lead guitarist Alex Read, bassist Guy Ewing’s melodically-inventive foundation, Ian Boletchek’s delicate and ferocious keyboard and sax, and Drew Greene hard-driving beat, and infused throughout by Anthony Braun’s distinctive songwriting, orchestration, and production. In January, 2026, the band celebrated the release of its first single in this formation, "Here Come the Shadows," with several more recordings on their way. Live, Animal Soul is innovative, eccentric, and seriously entertaining, serving up a blistering potpourri of energetic sonic inventions.
