Group "Fun" Ride from Fort Lewis College to Buckley Park

Cyclists of all ages and skill levels are invited to partake in Durango's largest group "fun" ride. The party starts at 11 am at the Center of Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis College, where hundreds of Durango cyclists will converge for a massive group ride from the college to Buckley Park in downtown Durango. Local radio stations will be playing music, and local businesses and organizations will have booths with information, prizes, and more. The "Looking Back, Racing Ahead: 50 Years of the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic and Durango Cycling Culture" exhibit at the Center of Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis will be open at 11 am on October 9th before the Group "Fun" Ride. Riders are encouraged to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness month. The Durango Police Department is providing rolling road closures so that bikes can safely take over the roads. Members of the Fort Lewis Cycling team will act as guides with riders at the front and back of the group. There will be a pre-ride briefing at 12:45 pm.
