The Rio Grande Valley hosts more species of birds than most other states. Because of this area's extreme southern location and unique habitat, it is home to many bird species that are found nowhere else in North America. Our host ranch is in one of the best locations to photograph this unique area's many species.
Bird species we have photographed during this workshop include Green Jay, Audubon's Oriole, Olive Sparrow, Lincoln Sparrow, Northern Mockingbird, Common Ground Dove, White-tipped Dove, White-crowned Sparrow, Pyrrhuloxia, Long-billed Thrasher, Curved-billed Thrasher, Black-crested Titmouse, Plain Chachalaca, Roadrunner, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Northern Bobwhite, Green-Tailed Towhee, Phoebe, Northern Cardinal, Golden-fronted Woodpecker, Harris's Hawk, and Crested Caracara.
