Durango Nature Studies is a community organization that has grown and evolved thanks to so many people through the years. We have always had a hard working and devoted board or directors, in addition to well-qualified staff dedicated to the mission of the organization.
DNS is also unique in that it offers so many programs with little overhead. Many people wonder how we are able to do all that we do. This is in part because we have a large number of volunteers and community members that donate their time and resources. Many of our Senior Volunteers have been with us since the organization’s inception.
In addition, we work closely with teacher and school district advisors to make sure our curriculum continues to enhance science standards and topic pacing. And, of course we work with parents and kids to make sure our workshops, after school, and summer programs are packed with fun, learning, and the joy of being outside.
