Testimonials

Gallery

"There's something here for every budget including stunning images of wildlife, mountains/deserts, and the train. Most were shot within an hour of Durango. The photographer, Frank, was in the shop and was happy to chat about his work. Will definitely be back for holiday gifts."

Rebecca S.

"The gallery contains a fantastic collection of Frank’s images, and while you can browse with no pressure to buy, they are hard to resist. Frank also offers workshops in the magnificent locations featured in his own work. I had the best time on a Monument Valley workshop and with Frank's no-pressure assistance came away with images I was very happy to enlarge and hang on the wall."

Marj K.

"Beautiful landscape photography. We enjoyed speaking with the owner/photographer about his skills, the unique way he sets up his early morning shots-- all proof to me that detailed, diligent work pays off. What a breath of fresh air from so called artists with their cellphones!!"

Patti B.

"We bought our most memorable souvenir from this shop, a black and white photo of Monument Valley. There were so many photos that took me right back to different places in and around CO."

What is the best finish for my print?

When you purchase a print from Scenic Aperture you can choose from three finishes: glossy, satin, and semi-gloss. You’ve probably seen all three. They all are common.

Glossy prints are shiny, as their name implies. If you look at a print at an angle and see distinct reflections, you’re probably looking at a glossy finish. Satin prints are dull and lack shine. If you don’t see distinct reflections on your print, particularly with strong lighting, then you’re likely looking at a satin finish. Semi-gloss finish falls between glossy and satin in terms of light reflectivity.

Which finish is best is mostly a personal preference. However, there are instances where you’d be better off using one over the other depending on where your print will be displayed, how it will be presented, and the characteristics of the image.

    Do you offer gift certificates?

Yes! Looking for a perfect gift for your special photographer? Gift certificates are sometimes the best option. Gift certificates are available in any amount for workshops, tours, and fine-art prints.

Call or visit Scenic Aperture’s Durango gallery to purchase gift certificates.
