Take a tour through the decorated storefronts of Downtown Durango in search of clues to win the 4th of July Scavenger Hunt! The Scavenger Hunt starts at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 3 and ends at 5:00 pm on Saturday, July 6.
Participants can pick up a Scavenger Hunt map at the Durango Welcome Center, any decorated storefront or download a copy here. At each clue location a number or letter will be provided to solve the final riddle. Participants turn in their completed maps to the Welcome Center by 5:00 pm on Saturday, July 6.
A winner will be picked at random from qualifying entries.
You, too, can be an artist! Saunter over to Hermosa Café and pick up a paintbrush to participate in the community mural. Each year Hermosa Café provides a huge canvas, paints and some outlines to create a Patriotic Mural.
Fun for adults – and also great for kids while adults are having tea and coffee! It is interesting to watch the picture emerge over the four days.
Get your farm-fresh-fix strolling through the “streets” of the Durango Farmer’s Market. Fresh flowers? A coffee and pastry for your walk? Take your time deciding which of the amazing vegetables, organic meat, and beautifully made crafts you want. Or sit and visit while listening to local musicians.
The Farmer’s Market is the hot spot on Saturday mornings, in a relaxed, friendly way. Vendors take time to tell you about their farms and how their produce is grown.

Lu’Ann Reeder and Emily Spencer have been performing together since 2018, providing their audiences with an exquisite acoustic experience. Reeder plays guitar and is the lead vocal, while Spencer plays the mandolin and provides harmony. This duo covers tunes from the ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s.

Animus on the Animas! The Good Fight Boxing Gym presents a USA Boxing -sanctioned amateur showcase – the first of its kind in Durango! Approximately 20 bouts will be fought during the day, drawing USA Boxing athletes, coaches, and families from multiple states.
New to boxing? Join us at the beautiful Main Mall where a full-size boxing ring is erected to showcase boxers of all ages and backgrounds. Stores will be open in the Main Mall for spectators and shoppers. Proceeds from the event will support The Good Fight Scholarship Fund.
Ticket price: $20 for full day wristband. $5 for quick view of a few "bouts" with an experienced fighter to explain the sport as you watch. Click here to meet some of the fighters and learn more.

Show off your carving skills by entering the 11th Street Station Halving Contest on Saturday July 6 at 2 pm at 1101 Main Ave. This is a tournament-style contest with three age groups – 6 and under, 7 to 15, and 16 and older. Contestants will be provided with an age-appropriate utensil and will cut in half food items from the 11thStreet Station food trucks. The most even cut advances to the next round. Hot diggity dog! Join the Hot Dog Eating Contest at 11th Street Station, located at 1101 Main Ave., on Saturday July 6 starting at 5 pm. Three age groups – 6 and under, 7 to 15, and 16 and older – with a max of 10 contestants per age group. Whoever eats the most hot dogs and buns in the time limit wins! Time limits are: 6 and under, 2 minutes; 7 to 15, 3 minutes; and 16 and older 4 minutes. Prizes for 1st and 2nd place. Pre-registration encouraged by texting 970-749-7204.
I AM Hologram is a one-man band from the deserts of the Southwest who uses all his limbs to create unique soundscapes using stream of consciousness.
Musician Richard Nihil is an artis, a photographer, a poet, a traveler, and an Army Veteran. Although he spends most of his time in Arizona, he travels extensively, playing music. His catalog includes over 1500 songs, featuring music from the 1020’s to the 2020’s. He has an impressive range, with music from Big Band, Country, Classic Rock, Delta Blues, Punk, Irish Traditional, Grunge, Hip Hop, Metal, Folk, and New Wave.

It’s a dance of danger. Professional bull fighters in the ring with 1200-1600 pound ornery animals. Freestyle bullfighting is a style developed in American rodeo by rodeo clowns who protect bull riders from the bull. Watch these professionals as they engage with the bulls. And then dance in the dirt with the Josh Ray Band after the action!
