Our programs help to enrich and transform the lives of people with disabilities through sports and recreation. By working with participants to overcome physical and cognitive challenges in a supportive environment, we help participants "explore possibilities."
For over 30 years, Adaptive Sports Association (ASA) has been providing adaptive skiing, snowboarding and a variety of “sit-ski” instruction to people with disabilities. Lessons are typically one-on-one and are offered to people with every type of disability. State-of-the-art equipment and instruction, as well as a “family” atmosphere are hallmarks of ASA’s winter program. Our instructors work closely with participants to determine the most appropriate method of cruising the slopes. Adaptation and improvisation are what make our winter program so successful.
We run both full and half day private lessons from opening day to closing day at Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort. Purgatory has beet rated "Top Family Friendly Resort" by Family Travel Magazine along with "Top Value Ski Spot" in North America by TripAdvisor.
We've also been offering summer recreational opportunities and adaptive action sports for almost two decades. All summer activities including rafting, cycling, canoeing, kayaking and rock climbing can be adapted to meet the needs of individual participants. We can also customize a trip especially for your group! Come explore the exciting world of Colorado outdoor recreation with the Adaptive Sports Association!
