Mountain and Valley Fiber Arts Festival

  • Tel: (970) 773-1499

The Mountain and Valley Wool Association (MAVWA) is celebrating their 43rd year hosting the annual Mountain and Valley Fiber Arts Festival (formerly the Taos Wool Festival).  An outstanding regional fiber arts market with juried vendors displaying their own products made from a variety of natural fiber and adding their artistic creation. Yarn, roving, raw fleece, and tools are also available. Animals are on show - yaks, llamas, sheep, and alpacas to name a few.  Demonstrations of sheep shearing, dyeing, spinning, and other fiber crafts, with the added ambience of live music and hands on learning, the festival is unique and fun for the whole family.

Excited to invite you to this fabulous event being held on October 3 and 4, 2026 at the La Plata County Fairgrounds and Event Center in Durango, Colorado.

MAVWA is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization open to all. Its mission is to promote fiber from all fiber bearing animals, as well as other natural fibers and to pass on the rich history of fiber-related crafts to the next group of fiber enthusiasts.
