What is the AIARE Companion Rescue Course?

Whether you are a novice to backcountry skiing or an experienced rider, we all get rusty when we don't regularly practice critical skills. This AIARE Companion Rescue Course was designed as a yearly refresher to help backcountry travelers keep their skills sharp as they venture into avalanche terrain.

In this course, you will learn the following; 

• How to build a rescue sled
• Advanced beacon searches and complex rescue scenarios
• Multiple burial scenarios 
• Considerations for an organized rescue

What does the private guided ski tour entail?

Your private guided ski tour will be provided by your AMGA guide from San Juan Expeditions to explore the backcountry north of Durango. You will also get to experience the breathtaking views of the San Juan Mountains as you explore the backcountry with an experienced guide.

The sweepstakes begins on February 9 and ends on March 1. The winner must book their course by April 30, 2023.
