Here’s a four-day itinerary for your honeymoon in Durango, CO:

Day 1

On the first day of your honeymoon, enjoy spending quality time with one another. Take it easy and get to know the area. 

  • Start the morning off with coffee and a breakfast burrito from the local coffee shop, Durango Joes. There are several locations.

  • Take a hike up the Hermosa Creek Trail.

  • Drive a little farther north to James Ranch and enjoy a sumptuous, healthy lunch at the grill that overlooks the gorgeous Animas River Valley. Stop at their market for artisan cheeses, baked goods, and fresh vegetables.

  • Head back to Durango Hot Springs. Plan in advance and book a couple’s massage. Relax and soak in the sunshine in one of the 27 mineral hot pools, 19 of which are for adults only.

  • Finish your day with drinks and a romantic dinner at Eolus Bar & Dining.

Day 2

On day two, try and get out of your comfort zone. Explore the town and surrounding areas while enjoying each other's company. 

  • Enjoy starting off your morning with fresh drip coffee and fresh croissants or baked goods at Bread. 

  • Strengthen your couple’s power and bond by taking a Horse Empower session.

  • After your day in the saddle, stop at Ska Brewery for a taster flight of craft beers

  • For dinner go to 11th Street Station. Not only does 11th Street have a variety of dinner options to choose from but the two of you can enjoy live entertainment.

Day 3

After a day of Horse Empowerment, stick around downtown Durango! Enjoy shopping, historic tours, and grab a bite to eat. 

  • Enjoy a relaxing morning with brunch at the Strater Hotel.

  • Visit the shops and galleries in downtown Durango.

  • Take the self-guided walking tour down Historic Third Avenue.  Be sure to pick up your printed guide at the Durango Welcome Center.

  • Dinner at Ken & Sue’s.

Day 4

Durango’s a very outdoorsy town. On day four, get out on the water! There’s nothing better than taking it easy and spending the day enjoying the river together. 

  • Before you both start your day, enjoy breakfast at College Drive Cafe.

  • Pick up a SUP or kayak from a rafting outfitter.

  • Head out to Lake Nighthorse for a morning of paddleboarding or kayaking.
