The Polar Express will depart the train station in Durango. While onboard, guests will enjoy refreshments as they listen to a reading of The Polar Express by the conductor.
Where Does the Polar Express Train Ride Go?
Departing from Durango, your Polar Express train ride will travel directly to The North Pole to pick up the one and only Santa Claus. Then, as the train pulls into the North Pole, a spectacular light show featuring holiday music will be enjoyed by all. Expect a super-sensory experience with thousands of lights.
Once Santa arrives on the scene, wave to him and his elves as you observe the magnificent scenery of the North Pole from the comfort of your heated coach. On the return journey, Santa himself will board the train and hand out gifts to all.
How Long is the Polar Express Train Ride?
While the length of the round-trip train ride to the North Pole is 65 minutes in duration, please allow a total of 2 hours for this fantastic journey. Please arrive at least 20 minutes before departure, as there will be a performance as the train steams into the station in preparation for departure to the North Pole. While the weather may be chilly, rest assured our cabins are heated. The stop at Santa’s village will take only a few minutes, where you will be mesmerized by the light show and of course, Santa himself.

What Should I Wear for the Train Ride?
In The Polar Express film and story, all of the children are dressed in their pajamas, since the story takes place on Christmas Eve and they are all ready for bed. Guests are encouraged to do the same! Adults and children alike should wear festive cozy pajamas for the full Polar Express experience! As the weather can be chilly outside, be sure to dress in layers. Snow boots are recommended.
