With Durango as your home base, you won't run out of things to do. In fact, we're sure you'll want to spend a couple of extra days. 

Located in Southwestern Colorado, Durango features numerous accessible lodging and entertainment opportunities that feature something for even the most discerning tastes. You'll find that Durango is the ideal destination for your next family vacation, business trip, or group outing. Durango offers a variety of accessible outdoor activities and sightseeing opportunities. Climb aboard the historic Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad for a leisurely trip through the canyons of Southwest Colorado’s San Juan National Forest. You can also visit one of the area's outdoor playgrounds and enjoy miles of world-class accessible trails, and end the day relaxing in a pool at the Durango Hot Springs or the Durango Recreation Center.

The D&SNGRR offers a train car with wheelchair-accessible restrooms, lift service, and a spacious interior. Any special needs should be communicated with a reservation agent at the time of booking.

Currently being renovated, the Durango Hot Springs accessibility features have been at the forefront of the redesign process.  When complete the hot springs will feature 12 ADA-accessible mineral pools at varying temperatures, zero-entry access to the swimming pool, and all building access and walkways are designed to be wheelchair accessible. Since this property is currently under renovation, please call ahead to verify what accessible pools and features are open. 

The Durango Recreation Center features lots of accessible options to meet many different individuals' needs. This includes a lap pool with pool lift, accessible track, wheelchair-accessible weight and training area, and more. The Recreation Center also provides a trailhead to access the beautiful Animas River Trail where you can soak in the rays, and take in beautiful mountain views.
